It has now become apparent that certain members of extreme religious groups have declared war on Western Nations. It is extremely difficult to differentiate between genuine refugees & terrorist groups entering & already settled in the UK. In the 14-18 War & also WW2 in order to protect the population ALL alien personnel were interned in POW camps. I am aware that this would be difficult to achieve in the present situation but surely not impossible what do other ABers think ?

thanks to you all for your kind wishes Ron.
I've yet to see any evidence that any Islamic extremist attacks in Europe have been carried out by people entering Europe from outside, whether under the guise of 'refugees' or otherwise. While some of the attacks might have been planned from outside of Europe, those carrying out attacks in London, Copenhagen and elsewhere have always turned out to be nationals (or long-term residents) of the countries where the attacks took place.

Similarly, it seems likely that it will eventually be found that those who carried out the attacks in Paris were either citizens of France or Belgium or long-term residents in those countries.

So I fail to see how locking up hundreds of thousands of legitimate refugees (including, of course, many children) could be expected to reduce the chances of further attacks.

Indeed, locking up vast numbers of entirely peace-loving Muslims would probably be seen by extremists as a further 'attack on Islam' by 'the crusading nations' (as ISIS sees it), thus considerably INCREASING the chances of further attacks in Europe.

Simplistic solutions to complex problems rarely work, Ron!
PS: Even though I can't agree with your suggestion here, it's still good to see you back, on ;-)
All aliens? How on earth do you think that could be done? Considering the main person in the French atrocity was a French national, how would you separate British nationals. We are not up against a country, we are up against terrorists, no uniform, no identity, no country, how would you identify them
^^^on??? Ron!!
(I must type more carefully!)

Cheers Chris, still sniggering re back on.
/// how would you identify them///

Silly clothes & straggly beards. (for starters)
^no offence, ron.
@whiskeyron

In WWI "all alien personnel" extended to anyone with a Germanic-sounding surname (except the Royal Family, natch) and regardless of them being 2nd or 3rd generation. We were quite the reactionary types, back then.

So, are you suggesting the whole 2.5 million (or whatever) who you can't tell apart (no, me neither) need confining?

How many per Nissen hut?

Coal fired stoves? Or wood? Or propane?

Are you in business, selling sheds, stoves, coal, wood, or propane, by any chance?

;o)
Chris, Someone else posted something similar yesterday, but it’s nonsense. Following the Charlie Hebdo massacre, a quarter of British Muslims said they sympathised with the perpetrators. If that’s the case, why do you think that people coming into Europe don’t think similarly? They don’t abandon their philosophy at the border.
