Trip Advisor started in the US so is very good for Americas and Caribbean. Then the .co.uk site started up, so its worth looking there for Europe. Its more than just hotels though, its attractions / tourist sites as well.

I would never book a hotel before reading about it on TripAdvisor. I would never book a cruise before reading about it on cruisecritic....!
