I'm trying to get the song title of an instrumental which involved someone handclapping and a guy plucking the double bass, I think it dates from the sixties but I'm not sure. I'm sorry that's the only info I have. I hope someone can help.

Not a lot to go on but it sounds like Pick up Sticks by Dave Brubeck (from the Time Out Album)
Hi mosschops,

I think the tune you mean is Unsquare Dance written by Dave Brubeck, I remember it well, just the bass and clapping as the melody - very short, too.

The only samples I can find on the net by him are too jazzy. I did however find another recording here http://www.wellspring.org.uk/record.htm (go down to the jazz record) which is the tune I'm thinking of but less crisp than the original.

I've got a feeling the original was by DB but maybe a B side to Take Five or Blue Rondo a la Turk.

Let me know if this is the one!

Hi ipek, I went to that website you included in your answer and even though its is a bit jazzy it still is the song I'm thinking of. Thanks very much for your quick and accurate response.
