I must say that I enjoyed watching the series and the final episode last night on BBC2.
The only thing that I found slightly disappointing, was that I was just getting into one of the iconic songs being played, like Bobby Gentry's, "Ode to Billy Joe" for instance, then suddenly they fade the song out and move on to something else.
Personally, I'd rather hear each song in its entirety, rather than just snippets.
I guess that would have doubled the length of the program but I could live with that!

At the end of the program, Reg said something like "see you all next year for the new series" I'll be looking forward to that, get that red Cadillac rolling!

Great programme. If only the Beeb would interest itself in the common man !
A very oo-err moment. I just logged on to see if anyone in the TV section had commented on this wonderful series when I noticed your post under Latest Posts! As I haven't watched last night's programme yet, I can't comment further but I'm looking forward to it. The red Caddy has my name on it when he's finished with it!
It was an excellent series.
The only TV programme that I've watched lately. Really good series, and Reg D is excellent. I love that part of the world. Can't wait to go back.
Here's Bobby Gentry… The song is kinda dark with a not too pleasant undercurrent, but it was very popular back in the day…

Caught the first episode 5 mins after it started and was hooked! Such a lovely man, and that woman tap dancing last week was incredible! Roll on the new series.
I've just watched the repeat of this on catch-up as I missed it first time round.
I enjoyed it.
