You are right, anne - events like this ought to pull all of us up and make us realise what is important.

Also, matching plates is just so passé.
Totally agree. I am glad that your family members are O.K. and feel really sorry for those who have lost loved ones or whose loved ones have been seriously injured. As far as the matching plates are concerned, what is important is not what is on the table but the people round it.
There's never been a truer word said on AB. That dreadful accident today puts lesser worries into perspective.
Very true - I gave up worrying about little things long ago.
Glad all yours are safe, Anne.....but what a tragedy.....

I never, ever sweat about the small stuff but I know some who do and it kind of niggles me....

Our Christmas has been turned on it's head by much worse than too few matching plates......nice that's all some have to fret about.....

Merry Christmas, Anne....enjoy your family......G♣

I think it's an age thing, priorities change as we get older ( just a wee bit older ) :)
Dreadful and tragic accident, glad all's alright your end, anne.
Tell you relative to use paper plates, they don't even have to be washed up after.

tony............. paper plates ? we do have standards to maintain, don't ya know.

Sorry anne, plastic picnic plates then ;-)
Paper plates are a luxury in the W Midlands:-)
To bloody right, rusty. I like my chips out of the paper !.
Down here, it's mackerel from the hook and on to the tin plate......

Breakfast, comme mon oncle, porridge, kedgeree, eggs, bacon, sausage and the equivalent of grits all from the same skillet (huge iron frying pan), different sectors but never mind the overlaps.... "Bleddy well ends oop in t'same place."
You can't tell people how to feel. Some people who seem to have brilliant life, from an outsiders point of view, are allowed to feel sad. The fact that tragic events happen doesn't take away someone elses sadness.
My little things sweat like crazy.
have to agree with you ummmm. These things dont take away our own sadness even though we do feel for others .

not too sure everyone has the gist of this post :) shoota . behave :)
Yes Miss.
Misbehave...
I think they do have the gist. Just because there is someone worse off than yourself, that doesn`t lesson your suffering.
