Wish I could have been there.

..........then again, I could have been the current Mrs. Av. Such missed opportunities!
I wasn't looking for a wife at that time, Yilly, however if we had met I may have changed my mind !.
A few of my fave Northern Soul songs from the 70s:

Do I Love You (Indeed I Do) - Frank Wilson
Out on the Floor - Dobie Gray
The Snake - Al Wilson
Seven Days Too Long - Chuck Wood
Landslide - Tony Clarke
There's a Ghost in My House - R. Dean Taylor
I'm On My Way - Dean Parrish

Long gone are the days when I used to dance to these!!
Oh I missed it.... all good songs there Yorkie and add My Heart's Symphony and Everybody's Goin' to the Love-In.
Gary Lewis and the Playboys - yes, Robinia, I had forgotten that.

"When you told me that you loved me
And I thought I could tell that you did
My heart told me all was well..."

Corr, cupid would be impressed.......

Gawd, I'd love to stop and carry on discussing Northern Soul with you guys, but I've got to go to work now.
I love northern and Tamla, it's the best feel good music. My ex husband was a dj so I used to line up all of my favourites for him to play. :)
Love on a Mountaintop - Robert Knight
The present Mrs Hughes is a major Northern and Tamla fan - and I was a DJ in a nightclub where she was a barmaid, that's where we met.

I used to play some of her faves and see her bopping behind the bar.
Robinia, I DJ'd on the base radio station when I was in the forces and NS and Motown was always a favourite among the inmates, errm residents.......
"Love on a Mountaintop - Robert Knight" - fine selection Welshyorkie!
lol...if things went a bit flat at a do Northern soul would get enough people up and dancing to make the place look full, you needed a lot of space to do it properly.....which I can't nowadays. The mind is willing but the body....
I've considered throwing some talc on the kitchen floor and having a go but I'd probably end up in traction for 3 months. :)
At almost 58, Robinia - my body has long given up the hope of doing anything remotely akin to NS dancing talc or no talc!!
Let's face it Robina and Welshyorkie - in your minds, a quick scattering of talc would bring out those shuffles, flips and backdrops, but in reality you would take one step, go arse over tip and ring for an ambulance!
