what is the best software to manage my mp3 colloection

Hi, I am about to embark on the epic task of digitising my record and tape collection I have bought a USB adaptor which will take either a line input (for the tape player) and.another for the turntable. I have ITunes but I what to try another type of software for this project is there a mp3 cataloging software like iTunes out there

Just save it yourself as files in a music folder.

There are loads, and as long as you create the library well to start with you can try them until you find one you like....

The most important thing is to ensure the files are tagged properly when you digitise the music, make sure the complete as many of the ID3 tags as you can. I'd also suggest making sure you use the normal file system to organise them, I create a folder for each artist and then another folder under that for each album from that artist.

Oh and figure out a way to tag compilation albums they can be the bigest nightmare!

I have 27000+ MP3 files, just creating files in a folder would become a bit of a nightmare to navigate, as it would for any collection above a couple of hundred songs.

Ive used Winamp for years, I love it, it can be a bit tricky to get it all set up the way you want it but then its brilliant!
