I remember shortly after starting work a mate of mine used to go round Ashton market with his meagre spends. There was a stall that sold cheap records mainly American,he was a bit of a rebel and loved protest songs, one Sunday night we gathered in our tiny front room to play records and smoke,he brought his cheap records out and recieved a load of stick when his unknown star started singing, who was this yankee deadbeat? Bob Dylan
Whilst in the Algarve recently we came across a band called 'Six Irish Men' who are an excellent live band. They are actually five guys from Faro and just the one from Ireland. They really are great and do mostly covers of The Waterboys, Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzie and the Dubliners etc. if you're visiting the Faro area, it's worth looking out for them.
Years ago stumbled upon 'Music box dancer'. Heard it of all places on a
compilation of snooker games. Cant remember who it's by, but if anyone
could do the link for me, I'd be eternally grateful. Probably a bit classical for
you lot!
I quite literally stumbled on this band when they were playing in Stroud's farmers market. They come over here from Oz for a few weeks every year and I never miss them.
