Having reported 2 cars untaxed and unsorn i have found that 1 car is owned by a police officer,
Are they exempt from the same rules as the rest of us as one of the cars has been dumped there for 8 years now ?

Is it on the road?
Question Author
no its parked outside a garage off road but not sure who owns the garages which are at the rear of the houses with access from the road
might be declared as sorn, although if you have reported them through DVLA will say if they have been. And yes police still have to pay tax on their own cars.
Question Author
they are not sorn or taxed, maybe a case of who you know ?
Whether they are sorn or not, if they are not being used on the road, does it matter?
more like a case that DVLA dont ever do anything about it
Question Author
yes it matter as between the 2 cars is a boat and in the garage is a family.
A family live in a garage?
how do you know it's not sorned?
A car off the road blocking a garage is the same as a pile of rubbish blocking a garage?
Question Author
checked it on gov.com site that they are unsorned
Question Author
yes the house is rented to 4 adults and they have this family in the garage.
So, there's people (with a child) living in a garage and you are more concerned about an un-taxed/un-sorned car - nice priorities.
Question Author
also as they are a range rover and a volvo est i suppose your right they are rubbish
Question Author
its not my problem i just wanted your views on the matter
Im not sure dvla can remove a car on private property even if its untaxed or unsorned.
Do the vehicles ever move phil or are they just sitting there rotting away?
Well my view is I don't give a stuff about the un-taxed/un-sorned car - just amazed that you are so matter of fact about a family living in a garage.
Owners of cars that are not taxed or SORNed are automatically fined..

The DVLA do not know or care about the occupation of the owners.

I suspect you do not know the full facts.
Question Author
i know that any vehicle not taxed must be sorn even if its on the moon and the owners are not known so should the cars be removed ?
