I READ in an article recently that one third of road accidents are caused by people who have been drinking too much, and one quarter are caused by people driving too quickly. It doesn't take a genius to work out that too thirds are therefore caused by people who have not had enough to drink, and three quarters by people who drive too slowly. This means that people who drive quickly whilst over the limit are twelve times safer than those who are sober and obey the speed limit.

I was driving a well known supermarket lorry the other day, which is limited to 50 mph maximum. Cruise control was engaged at 50 mph.

I was following a car doing 50 mph, in a very clearly marked 50 mph zone.

There are two speed cameras on that stretch, and at each camera the car in front braked hard just as it passed the camera.

So much for calling them safety cameras.

..and why do we have average speed cameras..considering the tax we all pay why cant we have some decent ones!!
