I took my 206 for a MOT yesterday. All was well except that the brake lights had become stuck on, only going off when the ignition was turned off. The handbrake was off, the engineers couldn't find a microswitch. My father in law, a retired engineer is also stumped. Any ideas please?

Microswitch is normally behind the brake pedal.  If it's not there then it must either be built into the rod that goes into the master cylinder.  There has to be a physical switch somewhere!

Might be a case of pulling back the carpet and laying on your back and having a good look, torch in hand!

If it is not on the brake pedal lever it could be a pressure switch on one of the brake pipes in the engine compartment.
on my 206 the micro switch is in the passengers footwell almost behind the glovebox.hope this helps.
