problem starting

i have an astra van 1.7 diesel P.reg 72000 miles
It will start first thing in morning but when ive driven anywhere it wont start. It turns over but wont kick in. Ive put new plugs, leads and fuel filter in, but still does it.
has anyone got any ideas what the problem might be?

I would say alternator, but if it starts every morning ! then i am flummoxed

bit confused? plugs & leads ? its 1.7 diesel..or are you talking about glo-plugs ?

have you had the compression of each cylinder checked ?
