Taxi Driver

I have just witnessed a taxi driver give way to two pedestrians who were trying to cross a busy main road. Should he have his licence revoked for considerate driving? I'm tempted to report him.

Shocking!

Next thing he'll be getting his indicators fixed - and using them!
I agree . I assume you mean Italian taxi drivers ?

Now London black cab drivers are different. In my prolonged experience they are the best and safest PSV drivers in the world. Take the trouble to study them and you will see that they are always in the correct lane, ALWAYS use their indicators corectly and generally observe the Highway Code. They are seldom involved in , or cause, road traffic accidents, in my experience. It's their living, and they don't earn if they're off the road for repairs. True, they are apt to pull in to pick up a fare, but so would you in their position, and as a passenger you wouldn't want to be dropped off 100 yards down the road just to appease other drivers. ( Pauses, and waits for horny blasts !)
Now minicabs, well, they are a bit different.
sandmaster - he probably stopped to pick his phone up.
derekpara - I agree, with a few excpetions. Generally black cab geezers are good - much better than bus drivers! Generally aware of what's going on - Probably in their interests to keep the traffic moving
