If you have an accident in a supermarket car park does the law for driving speed and other driving offences still stay the same as they are on roads, dual carriageways etc., Thinking of careless driving, etc,. or because it is a car park are they any different. English law please.

I hope Buenchico will forgive my copying his answer on a similar question:

Those sections of the Road Traffic Act 1988 (as amended by the RTA 1991) which deal with 'dangerous driving' and 'driving without due care and attention' refer to offences on both 'roads' and 'public places'. Such offences can occur on a supermarket car par (or any access road to it, irrespective of who owns the land).

I hope that is sufficient. :)
