Does anyone have any idea why my engine just cuts out sometimes when I apply the brake and change down gears ready to stop? I also have a rattle that sounds towards the back of the car (no its not something in the boot!!!) and I can be driving along in fourth gear and the car will start missing and pulling back? I know nothing about car engines so would like some advice! Worried about getting ripped off.

could be a number of things from dirty fuel and muck getting through to an EGR valve or the cars 'computer' needing adjusting.

Maybe someone else can help if you give the details of model and age of car.

Daewoo(Chevrolet now) Matiz 2002 - trouble is I've done a lot of miles (80,000) - I know its a lot for a 5 year old little car!!! The poor thing is probably just worn out.
Doubt it is the EGR valve as your car does not have one fitted.

When was it last serviced?

Just last June! by the Chevrolet Garage where I bought it from - I'm starting not to trust them.
sounds like an airleak or a split rubber hose somewhere ??
