Key Cutting

Is it possible to have a replacement car key cut and if so can you get one cut at a local 'key cutters'. The key is a standard key, without central locking and alarm devices. Please advise me....

Having a terrible few weeks with cars after having haf to scrap my old one on thursday and buy a new one friday..

Then as I go to start my car up after picking up a takeaway earlier this evening... the key to the new car wont start the ignition as the key is about to break!!
