My neighbour who is in his 70's went to get some fish and chips for their tea. Coming from the fish shop to his car, three lads rowdy lads came by, knocked him back onto the ground and then jumped onto his car bonnet and ran across the top and jumped off the back. He was not hurt but his car is dented where they jumped on it. I don't understand how anyone can find this amusing

there are a number of things that baffle me about certain humans but i'd be here all day ranting about it.

Such a sad thing, especially this time of year :o(
i would call them a little bit more than unruly, mindless, pathetic thugs who attacked a 70 year old & his car, i bet if the man was in his 30's they would'nt of done it, these type of people look for victims who can't defend themselves, unfortunately these tend to be the elderly, women etc.

Hopefully, what goes around comes around and their get their comeuppance
i don't think they find it amusing either - they think it makes them look hard and cool...if only they knew what they actually looked like to everyone other than their few mates...
I'm past trying to understand them. Community service and slaps on the wrist do no good. I'd like to see punishments that instilled fear into potential lawbreakers. The older generation say, "Bring back the birch." Can't argue with that.
5 blokes, in their 20s, thought exactly that when they went for my dad when he was 70 - an ex boxer, doorman and general hard bloke - my dad grabbed one of them and battered him so badly, the other 4 ran away, and my dad broke his own hand hitting too hard!!

so take heart - one of these days they will choose the wrong 'oldie' and get their comeuppence

Good on your dad joko but it's usually the person who fights back that gets themselves into trouble with the law.
some people of today simply have no respect
Nice one joko. I'd love to catch some of these sh1ts doing this....i'm 6' tall, 20 stone and i'd batter the living daylights out of them.

Hope your neighbour is ok Maggie.

Three cheers for jokos Dad! People of that generation don't pussyfoot about. We can learn from them, just wish our political masters would also learn.
Its terrible maggie01. How can an assault like this be justified? Im all for bringing back the birch! Good on your Dad joko! In august we had a spate of thugs going around smashing car windows and mirror's at night. One resident, mid 30's chased 2 of these T**sser's and caught one but sadly the thug had a knife and stabbed the young dad. He died of multiple stab wound's leaving a wife and 3 kids. The thug is in jail but no doubt will be out in 5-7 years. He was 18 btw. When will the law stop being an ass?
This country today sickens me, no deterrents. Its stories like yours that make me wonder what the future holds. Sadly, they are becoming all to prevalent.
I'm part of the young generation (19), however, I have a mature attitude if I say so myself. I can't wait to age a few years so I get away from the tar and feather of other young people. Ever since I started school I could never work out why people are like this. I think maybe it is they have to seek the approval from their mates of being total gits to have any friends at all. I agree with most of the posts on here that there should be harsher punishments on the thugs that prey on the weak and vulnerable. I was bullied a lot at school and I take solice in the fact that my life has more meaning than theirs.

However I would like to know how the idiots get better jobs than I do? I'm a window cleaner and some of these $)%(*!! work in shops and banks etc... Life will always be a mystery to me, and eventually what goes around comes around
Because of our obsession with human rights, we abolished corporal punishment in schools. We said the violence was never justified. All we did was shift the violence to kids being bullied, by thugs who ought to be caned. This same attitude spills over on to the streets.
Purplecarrott., I see your point. Its a sad but true fact that many youth's are seen as thugs. Take the "Hoodie" brigades' they've spoilt it for any lad's who wear one. Kudos to you for getting a job, many of these thugs choose not to work and just hang around the streets and corner's spending their "Well earned benefit's". It's not safe to go out at night where I live,we have a park opposite us where junkie's meet up to buy and sell. It used to be a lovely area like many other places but spoilt now and downright dangerous. My youngest son wont go to the shops once it's dark, come to that nor will I.

As you say what goes around comes around and I hope in their case it is true. My neighbour is a really nice man and would do anything for anyone. He is ok but I think it has shook him up.
Purplecarrot - Well done for getting and keeping your job. You're only starting out, and with a good work record and no criminal record, good things will come your way. You can hold your head up and be proud to be an upright law abiding citizen.
If caught the parents should pay for the damage
hopalong - That would be a small step in the right direction, but then what? So many parents have no control over their kids. The thugs themselves need to actually feel punished, to the extent that they won't do it again and their mates would slo be deterred once they knew what the consequences were. At present, their is little to worry the street thugs. Crazy innit?
That is absolutely disgusting and upsetting, i really hope your neighbour is ok. Seriously the human population really makes me sick. This one time there was a group of lads who started on me and 2 of my friends and we are girls (aged 20 at the time) they were throwing stones at our heads, spitting on us and everything and pushed my friend backwards down these concrete steps and punched her...i absolutely lost it and battered the hell out of this lad and all his friends did was watch and tell him to leave it!!! and he walked off with ripped clothes, limping and screaming that we'd hurt him!!! well what can u say really didnt he ask for that - and hitting girls what the hell?!!!god it makes me mad thinking about it!
