Renault clio petrol

I have a 1.2 clio and the petrol light is currently on, just out of interest, and only out of interest cos i intend to fill it up next time i go out, does a noise sound when it is dangerously low? I remember in a hire car one there was no petrol and there was a beep which ment fill it up now! does a renault clio do this aswel??

Depends which year and model the Clio is!

Year is 2001, with a 51 plate making it a mk3 shape, it is the dynamiqe model. Thanks
