Hi can any one help me to solve this.My friends wife has recently moved to London to study nursing. She tell me her studies require her to use her own comp.in evenings to further her study. She wants her husband to purchase a comp from her home area and set it up to work at home and then take it to London in a plug in and go condition. What are her options. If we know the phone no.it will be connected to in london can we set up here 100m away.Pay as u go or broad band can be the connection. Is it possible to use the London based comp on a wireless share with comp at home base 100m away.

It is not possible to use a wireless connection over that distance, but it is possible to set up a dial-up connection elsewhere, and usually a broadband connection (given that all the information needed is available). However, it is sometimes necessary to input passwords etc to set up a connection fully and it would be much more sensible to set up the net connection in it's final resting place for testing purposes.
