Ford Fiesta Interior /door light

recently bought a w reg fiesta, and although the interior light works when switched on manually, it doesn't come on when in door mode when the door opens

any ideas?

Broken contact or dirty contact on light switch itself, pull the fitting out and scratch the contacts with a nail file, OR, dirty contacts on door post switch. Unscrew fitting, carefully extract from pillar, clean contacts and reinstall, ensuring screw makes good contact to earth.
