I’ve got a few scratches and scrapes on the car I’m wanting to sell. Nothing major at all. I’ve been quotes of about £400 to repair these, but that car is only likely to fetch about £4500. Is it recommended to get such repairs done before trying to sell, or sell after ensuring the buyer is aware of the damage?

A good MOP will get rid of most of it, then declare what's left.
If you are selling privately, a buyer might walk away if it looks uncared for.
However if trading in, you probably wouldn't get your money back.
