I was under the impression that these days your driving license now expired at the age of 70.

I sent mine away for change of address just to be told that my driving license has just expired!

I had no idea!

I'm now off the road till I get a new one!! grrrr Mind you my photo really needed to be updated, maybe that is the reason, I look 30 years younger.

I'm no legal eagle but I'm pretty sure you can drive using your paper licence.
Yes Svelk, if someone has an old style paper licence, that doesn't need renewing.

However a photocard licence with paper counterpart has to be renewed eveery ten years to keep the picture up to date.

There is significant uncertainty about whether it is legal to drive when the photo has expired, with different views being applied by police forces and government agencies.
Yes the photo driving license only lasts 10 years. If you still have the old paper one you can still use it. It is a legal requirement that your driving license always shows your current address.
All reach for our licences to check the expiry date....phew 2015 for me although it feels close to 10 years since i had the photo taken.

Thanks guys, I cant continue to drive because they wouldnt change my address because the license had expired, making my license illegal to use. not to worry, Carakeel usually drives anyway.

I need to get the mug shots done again :-(
