2 parts to my question, firstly, why is it cutting out when i am stationary. it doesnt always do it but i can be sat at roundabouts or traffic lights and it ticks over at 1000 revs as normal and suddenly after a minute the revs just drop and it stalls, restarts no probs but occasionaly does this 2 or 3 times, other times not at all, but it is getting worse lately, was about once a month but now it is 3 times a journey. this problem only happens if i am stationary and ticking over for longer than about 30seconds to 2 mins.

2) how much does a new clutch approx cost cos my biting point is to near the top, i barely press the pedal half an inch and it is there, if it is a lot to replace then i may end up scarpping the car and starting again as it is high mileage as it is and a couple of other probs.

seems as though 406 has this cutting out problem

mine does the same occassionally, some times it will go for weeks without cutting out then the problem occurs.normally i dip the clutch as car is moving engine restarts and usually that sorts it.i recently made sure all connectors are secure sprayed wd40 all over and have not had a problem for weeks
