Half Or Full year's Road Tax

Just about to tax my car. As money is tight, would you tax it for a whole year or just 6 months?
I know it's £20 more to tax it for the 6 months but at least it's taxed when my MOT is due in November. If my car needs money spent on it then, then that would be a double whammy to me.

well if the car is a write off at MOT, you can get a refund and if it needs work, you will have 20 quid towards it...if you can afford the bigger outlay now?

If you can afford to do it for 12 months then I would. Like you mine falls in December and it's always an unwelcome £100 to pay then.

If it wont be a write off and you can afford it now then just do it....you will be 20 quid better off and won't have to worry about affording it again for a whole year.

It's a "Y" reg Subaru Impreza 2.0 estate. I know it's a fair age but it's only got 65,000 miles on the clock.

I always try to get the MOT and tax to come due at different times, even if it costs a shilling or two.

I always do a year. Same with insurance...it's cheaper than DD.

The tax on my Smartcar is so cheap you can't tax it for 6 months.
