I own a Renault Clio (2001) Turbo Diesel and the 1900 cc engine has went noisy and lacks power... what can be wrong ? All suggestions gratefully accepted.

Should I claim on their insurance?

Turbo? Is it black smoking?

No black smoking... could it a problem with the timing belt ?

If it was on a diesel .. the engine would most likely not be running .. and the valves would have smashed on the pistons.

What sort of noise? Nothing much more can be done without a few more clues.

Check the pump timing.
