I shouldn't think so, The warning light normally go's out when the engine is started. Check the fuse

what else could be the problem if its not the fuse?

if the airbag system detects a fault the airbag light will light up and remain on

if the fault is rectified the light will still stay on - it needs to be reset by the main dealer
