New Clutch - problem??

I've just had a new clutch fitted today but now when I drive the car it seems to over rev a lot when I depress the clutch to change gears (upwards). I stalled the car 3 time because it was so aggressive! Is this a problem with the new clutch or is it something that will go away after it 'beds in'?

Many thanks

Take the car back & get it sorted ASAP. Ruth.
this should bed in over time
Not adjusted properly?
more likely you will simply get used to the new feel of a longer clutch pedal travel after having the 'biting point' on the pedal so high before.
As long as the gearbox doesn't crunch into gears or the clutch pedal vibrate at any point, you're good to go !
I had to have a new clutch, and for the first few days, I didn't feel in control of the car it felt so weird. Then it "bedded in" or "settled down" and now its back to normal.
It,s not bedding in, its probably down to you to get used to the new pedal position.

I'm not really convinced it is the new clutch which is the problem but the problem has only appeared after having the replacement put in.

Now when I change gear from 1st to 2nd the car drives by itself, ie: does not need the accelerator. Also when I press the clutch down, the car revs so high I can hardly keep it under control, it is as if something is now wrong with the accelerator. Are the two problems connected?
Sounds like the throttle cable or linkage is sticking, if you just rev the engine while stationary do the revs die straight back down to idle again?

If it is the cable or linkage sticking then it's probably down to it not being put back together correctly in some why, as they'd probably have to remove it to get the engine out to change the clutch.
sounds more like an air leak to me id check the vacume pipes
ones prob been pulled off when they did the clutch im on the spanners and ive done this once or twice myself its easy to knock a vac pipe loose when your up to your elbows in an engine
