Hi completely out of the blue my sons partner has ended their relationship. They've given notice on their flat and he's moved back with me. They have a two year old daughter and she's planning to move back to her own family 150 miles away. We're all devastated particularly as we looked after her whilst her mum and dad worked so she's spent more time here than anywhere. My son is trying to keep things amicable but she's not talking and communicates by text only asking him for money for food for the little one and money to go out! What is the best way of dealing with this before she moves back home permanently - I feel once she's back there we'll rarely see her.

Thank you
Yes this is a case for The Family Court.
The Family Court is a lot less formal than most courts and they try hard to see both sides of the case.
But I have to tell you the Family Court has ONLY ONE option open to it. That is to do No other decision is available to it, the child's best interest overrides ALL other concerns.
It is for the court to decide in consultation with all parties what those 'best interests' are !
There are no 'rights' other than those of the child!
Sorry the most important line of my answer disappeared
That is the court has to do 'Whatever is in the Best Interests of the child'
Decided to rewrite the entire answer so you can be sure of what I said
