Feel sorry for this guy. Lets hope they have found decent housing alternatives for him.

I wonder if the reasons for moving him were genuine or they just didn't like the idea of someone surviving in a non-conformist lifestyle?

hard to say, there might have been some danger but it's not specified. Moving an adult "for his own safety" sounds rather nanny state.
Very different in Wolverhampton where the council provided an old chap sleeping in the central reservation of a ring road with meals on wheels, a tent and sleeping bag
The reason given for eviction was it was a distraction for other drivers, well, even a police car parked in a lay-by can be a distraction for some people. They also said they had no alternative but on the same page there is an article on arranging accommodation for refugees. Why couldn't they have arranged accommodation for this man?
and isnt a car but more of a sprawl

Good prog about the fella who lived on a roundabout in ?Leicester

The good residents looked on him as a sadhu
and er fed him .... on his roundabout.

The local council gave him an address so he could claim

gain all round....
Big mental probs in the homeless Vulcan
and as usual .... we dont know the back-story
hc - thx I didnt realise it was Wolverhampton
BUT he did have the support of the local population
Those who give up all worldly goods are respected by some ( immigrants )

[ in certain cultures ( oh no let us not mention THEM ! ) those with learning difficulties are looked on as touched by God and are especially tolerated )
The article states he started living there three years ago following a dispute with a neighbour. An unusual reason perhaps but no mention of mental problems.
I hope they find him somewhere decent to live.
Define homeless.

One mans dump is another mans castle.

Maybe he was happy there without all the pressures society can bring and considered it home?
