For the past month I have had an icy upper back - its driving me nuts. Got Mr. Towie to have a look for a rash, but he says there is nothing there.

Any ideas.

^^itchy^^
stress related maybe... I get terrible bouts of itching arms and back mostly the thing I find helps most is cooling the areas with a cool face cloth or if its really bad a tepid bath
Could it be caused by clothing labels? I have to cut the labels out of all my tops as they irritate the heck out of my skin.
Question Author
'stress' is my middle name at the moment, Rowan, but I don't think its related to that. It started before we had the hot weather, its driving me mad.
Question Author
daffy, I know what you mean, I also cut labels out of clothes for that reason, but no, its further down than where a label would be.

No tabatha, no change in products, though I not an 'allergic' type of person.

I've exhausted all possibilities of what could be causing it, but have come up with zilch.
Hi Towie,
have you purchased a new bra recently & could it be the fastener of it causing an allergic itch?
Question Author
Nope, Laelia, no new bras. (:o(
New bed sheet? I'm trying ;0)
Towie,
in the mean time until you find out what's making you itch .. I would suggest this anti itch cream used also for excema ... http://www.pharmacy2u...atum-cream-p3366.html
Is it there all the time, and when you scratch doe's it itch even more to the point of wanting to take the skin off(harsh I know). This happened to me and found out it was the shampoo I was using in the shower.I was told sometimes when you get older your skin changes(becomes more sensitive)to things it would not normally. On monday I was scratching my legs off all day I was demented, stripped down and washed them to notice they were blue off a new pair of jeans after washing legs itch disappeared.thought this might help you.
Do you sit on leather furniture; cause of heat itch
Ive had this before, I actually itched so much that I scratched till I bled. nobody had a clue what it was, and you couldnt actually see anything. I just persevered with anti histamines etc and it eventually went. Not much help im afraid, but I sympathise.
painkillers with codeine can do it too
Question Author
Laelia - hahaha no new bed sheet....
Fredkins - have thought about shower gels. Have not had any new ones.
Tambo - No leather furniture.
Smowball - my neighbour suggested anti histamines as she had something similar recently.
Rowan - I only take paracetamol.

Thanks for all your suggestions. xx
another trigger for me is too much sugar... no idea why but even a can of a non diet drink can have me clawing my skin
I hadn't changed my shampoo either same one i'd always used, but for some reason i was having an allergic reaction to it (just body change).Hope you get sorted out.
Have you been married 7 years !
lol Tony : )
