Why did they show these episodes at the end of the present series as it was first screened early last year or were all the others this year, repeats as well, though did not recognise any of them as a repeat, like this weeks.

One story in this series was not shown,for some reason I am not aware of, probably someone thought it was too sensitive in view of a recent event, so they had to pad it out with a repeat to keep to the scheduling.

Yes very strange wasn't it. Luckily I watched Homeland first. The ones previous to this were a new series. Very strange!!

Thank you all for your replies, clears that little mystery up. Checked the missing episode up and on Wikipedia, the episode was on the lines of something similar to a Rochdale ongoing court case?

I still rather watch Silent Witness all over again than watch the rubbish on the other side.

Yes BJS, they announced that just before the first (second) story went to air, the topic was similar to the court case.
