Just home from a fabulous night out to see a Queen Tribute concert. Singer was a bit skinnier and shorter than Freddy, but boy could he move and sing. Was just thinking that the first time I heard Radio Ga Ga was when I started Uni in 1983 - sounds just as fresh 29 years later.

Queen are the one band I regret not going to see live

I've seen them live in 1981/2...................brilliant!!
Wonderful maggie - what a great night you have had - I bet! Some tribute bands are just brilliant, my brother helps by setting equipment up for a Kinks tribute band and they are really good.
My OH liked them and actually got me into liking Queen as I really wasn't a fan before I met him. Afriend of ours also liked them and one day I asked him when Freddie recorded a certain song, he paused, thought and in all seriousness said, "Err...I think it was before he died!!!" (No? really lol)
Jammy thing Craft
Always associate Queen with my son driving me much too fast, playing the music in his sports car, to see my daughter and her 2 month premature baby girl, 4 and a half pounds. Now a beautiful, intelligent nearly fourteen year old who lives to dance.
lol mrs_o......................I didn't realise at the time that Freddie was gay :-(
We were involved in a community youth production of We Will Rock You, down here a couple of years ago, the first amateur licence for it granted outside London. Not the same as the real thing, but a privilege to have been involved in a great show.
lol I was the same for years with Graham Norton
There were a load of film stars I used to like, who never came out for years - it would have been bad press.

Craft- I'm envious, would have loved to see them live. Took me a while to realise what everyone else seemed to know about Freddie, must have been a bit slow on the uptake.
Saw Queen 6 times - 1st time,I was aged 15 - we saw the band in October, and they played Bohemian Rhapsody,a couple of months before it was Christmas No.1 - Mighty special!..and I was in the"Mosh-pit"barely a couple of feet from Freddie - Fantastic!! xx
I was the same with John Barrowman mrs o - very disappointed as no chance now :( he is gorgeous!!
Some tribute bands are great, others less so. E.g. Bjorn Again are a franchise - there are dozens of them around the world - and they mime. Others focus less on the visual lookie-likie aspect and concentrate on playing the music live - they're the ones to check out.
The best I've seen live were obviously Queen...................and Roxy Music.

Rock Hudson too Mrs o, my dreams dashed!
I was anti-gay until i met Freddie and his cat many years ago.
Have you ever seen Smackee Mark? They are the best Abba tribute band ever, if you close your eyes you would really think its the genuine Abba, and they look similar too, we love them!
