On this programme last night, the final question was ;'What is Herpes Zoster?' The students did not know, and they were told that the answer was chicken pox. Surely this should be Shingles?

It's the same virus Bobbie. You can't get shingles unless you have had chicken pox at some time in your life. The virus lies dormant after chicken pox and can rear it's ugly head at any time to give you shingles.

Ugly head indeed LL, my husband has been suffering for the past month, the rash is right accross his back. Very painful and he is absolutly exhausted all the time.

Oh dear Barb. I have had it a couple of times, it was caught very early fortunately and I didn't suffer much. Hope he gets better soon. How's Lottie?
