Did you laugh your socks off in "Who do you think you are?"
In tonights programme we fell about laughing at the old lady of 104 who was Emilia Fox's Great Aunt. Sadly she was blind and lived with her sister aged 90 but seemed extremely "with it" for her age. When Emilia went in the room they explained Mary was deaf but it turned out that she must have had "selective hearing" as when the other sister talked about their parents splitting up this voice came from the settee "Silly Buggar ran off with an American TART!!" - just hilarious to see the expressions on their faces!
They had been shouting the questions at her previously but she answered with this remark when they were talking together ignoring her .........brilliant, should go down as a funny moment in the TV archives!
We laughed too! It was a gem and completely unexpected. Sadly, at the end of the programme it said that the younger sister, Pamela, had died, but presumably Mary is still going strong!
Yes I wondered if Emilia had her baby and when so I googled it and on Wiki I read that she had a little girl, Rose, last November which was lovely to hear after her miscarriage. She seems such a nice person. I also wonder if her Great Aunt Mary is still alive, she was 104 in Oct 2010 when it was filmed. How sad for her that Mary's younger sister Pam aged 90 died, who she lived with, presumably Mary has had to go into care now.
Yes! I thought that both the elderly sisters were great, especially Great Aunt Mary! and i like Emilia Fox as well, and am glad to hear that her baby was ok. She certainly had an interesting family tree!
