I have just finished recording the last episode of the above prog (BBC R4). It had Johnny Vegas & Katherine Parkinson as the leads. JV did a creditable job as CP.
Has anyone else been listening to this?

Have recorded Howard. Love the book..one I can re-read. It`s been on radio a few times and I`ve always enjoyed it.

I've not read the book. Apparently this version follows it reasonably closely.

I listened to this because I enjoyed the book so much. Johnny Vegas has his detractors on this site, but I thought he was an unusual choice for Pooter and did a very good job. I also liked Katherine Parkinson in the IT Crowd. She does loads of voice overs on adverts and has great diction.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought all the cast were excellent. It's one of my favourite books too.

There's another book set about the same era, Three men in a boat, which is very funny and well worth a read.

I tried 3 Men... but found it very heavy going. Perhaps my brain was in the wrong place at that time. I never finished it.
