hi sher, i watched the first series, loved it, its very interesting to be educated about other peoples way of life.
It was, I love it, I have marked it to watch. Despite what everyone seems to think, they seem a very disciplined society.

I was amazed but how chaste the girls are (when they are quite skimpily dressed), real eye opener. And so mistrusted by others - all that secrecy about who they are when they book the wedding receptions, etc.

Agree sherrard, look flash but obviously closely watched and have self-respect, too! Yes - in the first series one wedding was cancelled the day before, when the hotel found out that the booking was for gypsies.
nearly had a run in with a big group of gypsies lastnight

Were you fighting over the clothes you found?
Yes, it brought a whole new meaning to toilet roll covers

I got the impression, pinki, that it is vast amounts. The dressmaker said that if she ever told, her life wouldn't be worth living.

ha ha no. One girl with us, not a close friend of mine may i add shouted 'what a bunch of [email protected]' just before we turned a corner and 10 gypsy blokes stood there. Had to shut her up fast before they smacked my bro. I watched 1st series, and was amazed how much money they have, although who wouldnt when you dont pay taxes, council tax, rent... We have a site in our town and gypsies are banned from most pubs. Some think they have a reputation they have to live up to, thats not to say theyre all bad and i will chat fine with alot of them.
There was a gypsy wedding at a posh hotel in my town and they had to call the police at 11.30pm as they started to wreck the place.
I grew up in Epsom and we had a gypsy site just down the road from us. I haven't been personally to a wedding but a relation of mine has, and was told that those dresses start from £5,000 each.
In the last series, the girl bride who looked about 13yrs in a pink wedding dress looked scared to death when it was time to go up to the hotel bedroom and was crying with her mother.

She had only met her husband a few weeks ago and had never been out with him on her own, as he was selected for her by the 2 familys.

Sounds a bit like the Indians, Arabs and the Pakistanis.
Hope you've got your flak jacket on, trt.
they will be a lot more than £5k a dress i reckon.

individually designed dresses, all that material, fittings, labour etc. Way more than £5k

they dont say though because they deal in cash, and the dressmakers probably do too
