I know it's only fictitious, but the script writers are just so ignorant of how schools are run, what you can and can't do, LEA'S, etc. The whole thing is getting to me now!!! I watch it and am driving Mr LL nutty complaining about all the mistakes whilst I am supposedly enjoying watching it.

I used to quite like it. It is totally ridiculous now!

Anyone agree?

Thanks Robi.

You just reminded me that I did excel at dancing at school, right little mover I was, which Is more than I can say now. I feel crippled up today and can hardly walk!!

Anything is better than hockey in my opinion. But don't tell our hockey whizz kid Shaney that!! I think she was a county champion.

Woofie have you seen that Nursing Drama/Comedy with Jo Brand. I can't remember what it is called but it is just so true to life. I haven't worked in hospitals, but spent so much time in and out of them last year as a long term visitor and out patient and been an astute observer.
Question Author
Anyway I simply hate all those Casualty, Holby City, The Royal type things. Can't stand anything about doctors or hospitals on the television. Never have. Oh, except Emergency Ward 10 about 100 years ago!!
Getting On ...it's good...so is Nurse Jackie, have you seen that?
Question Author
That Jo Brand comedy is called 'Getting On'. Written by Jo Brand who used to be a psychiatric nurse herself.
Question Author
Hi Robie. No I haven't seen Nurse Jackie. Is it the same sort of thing?
the birdseed is costing a fortune at the rate they throw it away - I put a cupful in at lunchtime and it's all gone now. Is there any other food that they might prefer?

Robinia, you sure this wasn't your badge?

Taster for you Woofie
Question Author
that was the one I wore round the back of the bike sheds jno :o)

Nurse Jackie's American Lottie, comedy but often in a dark or cruel way, very edgy and even sad and gory sometimes. She's a brilliant nurse, just hopeless with her own life...always running to loo & snorting something. It's a love it/hate it thing I guess.
My fav subjects were English (always got A's) Art, (a's) music (singing was Ok but couldn't play the recorder to save my life!), and Biology, (I can still draw the reproductive organs of a rabbit!). I ate cold marmelade toast in Maths, and in Geography we did the Internal combustion engine. Loved Hockey. We had a cine club, and Record club every Tues lunchtime (these days would be a disco) and dancing, ie the Military two step!! Lovely times so why were we so glad to leave ???
ooh, no, I managed to miss that, Lottie... I'll give it a go.
Emergency Ward 10, I loved it, we used to go to the neighbours to watch it and Wagon Train on Sat nights as Dad wouldn't let us have a TV until we had all passed our GCE's. Nurse Brown wasn't it, the pretty blonde one and John Anderson as the doc, can't remember the name!

<<< scribbles something rude in spanish on Blackboard for Miss Lottie to find and not understand!, and grabs her apple back >>>

Lovely times, no, no, no no no!! I enjoyed the years after I left school far far more than being at school. I felt totally anxious most of the time, well until I rebelled at age 15!!! Did well in my exams though. Loved my two years at college. Best years of my life though were probably from 17 until 25 when i got married. Now what does that say!!
If you want a taster of Nurse Jackie watch the scene from 07.30 to about 8.50...be warned, bad language, very adult....ouch!

Very useful skill that, Neti (the rabbit bits:)

I'm a retired NHS employee too and I just can't watch anything to do with hospitals or the vet's, either. Last hospital series I was able to watch was Chicago Hope, did you get to see that one in the UK and Spain? Good wasn't it. Geiger would always play Tamla Motown during operations: ♫♪ what becomes ♪ <splatter> ♫ of the broken hearted ♪♪ <splosh> - happy days;-)

Yes Robi we will now turn this place into the Grand Ole Opry - not:)

Q: How many country singers does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: Two. One to change the bulb, another to write a song about how good the old light bulb was.

(^^Stolen from one of the comments to Woofy's I Pray For You)
Hahaaaa..Nurse Jackie here.Only I spell it differently ...
Well that's another hurdle hurdled .All painless and the results will be with the consultant asap.

Aaargh pigeons Jno .
My bro used to feed the pigeons..Bought huge sacks of nuts for them .These are woodpigeons though not sky rats and now he's stopped because they came along in droves .To the point where he had one that was so tame it would sit on his shoulder and let him walk him round the garden .They got so cheeky they were walking into his conservatory .
He had flocks of them turning up in the end .He even got into trouble with an old boy in the pet shop for feeding them .
My sis in law got narky with him because the other birds never got a look in :)

So we're back at at school are we .
I loved school .Loved sports and am still as thick as thieves with my two old school friends We've been staunch allies for over fifty years now .
And yes Lofty I played county level hockey and had a trail for England .I played hockey well into my twenties .
This is my alma mater

Hope you are all fine .Not a bad day here after a grim start .
Thank you all so much for your good wishes and support .It means a lot to me xxx
