Does anyone have a copy of The Home Made Car? It was a trade test colour film shown on BBC2 in the late 60s and early 70s starring Ronald Chudley and Caroline Mortimer...and great music by Ron Grainer. Ta Muchly.
Many Thanks Indeed Blades-Fan...if I do get the chance to *see* it, it'll bring back nice memories for me too - I also remember the one about two guys and a wheel in Oz!
Brilliant! I remember watching all those during the school hols. I think the majority were made by BP. There were ones about the history of oil, building the Trans Arabian pipeline and one in a similar vein to this about a BP station in France or Italy. I remeber the garage owner trying to find the filler cap on some big US car and it wasn't until he wobbled the light on the rear fin, that he found the fin lifted and the cap was underneath. There were many others too. They don't make filmes like that anymore.
Yeah, SDD, I think the garage one you're on about was somewhere in Italy where the owner tried to have a shave in a tiny mirror and his daughter had a dance with some well-off guy while his guitarist played in the car and oh yeah, just remembered, while he was trying to shave a pony and cart came by with a squeaky wheel and he couldn't concentrate on shaving with a cut throat razor and went off after the cart and oiled its wheel!...oh happpy days...and I mean these BP films!
