The other night i was watching the national tv awards. They had a phone poll throughout the evening for people to call in with their fave personality. I say this is GREEDy (especially as people had already voted for the other awards) but my sister says they don't make any money from people calling up and registering their vote - please let me put an end to this. Am i right or am i right?

Thank you lil' sis for bringing this to light. Of course the TV companies stand to gain financially from this practice but what percentage? I'm sure the telecommunications also pull in a great amount. To be honest I've had it with all these 'viewer participation' shows. Cheap tele for greedy fat cats. I'm turning off and off to read a book!
BT will be the biggest winner, but you can be sure that ITV and the production company will also take a slice.
