Good morning Minty. Hope you had a reasonable day yesterday. I was thinking of you at this sad time.
Question Author
morning Lady xx actually had quite a nice day.. a wee bit sad .. but life has to go on, and it was good to have family with me too ..went on a wee walk and blew the cobwebs away ! how was your day ?
Fine. Nothing exciting. Finished sewing up jumper I had knitted but now I'm not sure I like it. Lost temporary crown cleaning my teeth so will have to contact dentist about that today.
That's it - the life of a jet-setter in its full glory.
Question Author
OOPS good job you didn't swallow the crown ! I had a temp one once and it was a nightmare, hope it gets sorted soonest. maybe the jumper will grow on you ? or make a nice birthday gift ?

I ended up in IKEA of all places to buy some short vases for daffs and it was soooo busy ! every toddler under the age of 5 was lurking round each corner and booby trapping the aisles !
A birthday gift? No, I don't think anyone else would want it.

I've not been to IKEA for years. The nearest one to here is about 115 miles away so i don't pop in very often. Did you get what you wanted?
Question Author
think this was the first IKEA to open in Scotland and is a magnet especially at weekends, the girl on cash desk asked me if I had a family loyalty card.. "I try my very best to avoid this place " was my answer ! lol she agreed !
I did ta, when buying flowers for dad at TESCO also grabbed 6 bunches of cut daffs, they are so cheery, then realised I only have long stem vases.. btw the Roses I normally buy are twice the price now because of Valentines Day tomorrow ..ridiculous !
How much did you pay for your daffs if you don't mind me asking. We have fields of them down here and I used to go horse riding with a couple who used to work cutting them so i know what the mark up down here is but just wondering if they are more expensive up there.
Question Author
£1 for a bunch of 8
Same as they are down here and with no air miles. Literally in fields surrounding the supermarket.
Question Author
I find them very cheerful but never cut any flowers from the garden so buy them where I can, daffs in gardens are just peeping up at the moment , will be a while before we see that host of Golden Daffodils !
Question Author
so now have 3 glass vases for shorter stemmed flowers and tulips etc.. handy to have !
Question Author
supposed to be a sunny one here today so hoping to get primulas planted and some tidying up done
I need to go and get some bedding plants for the pots by the front door. They make a nice cheery note.
Question Author
will reposition the firs in pots at the door.. had fairy lights on them for Christmas
We seem to be having a nice chat by ourselves today.
Is no one else up or are we just being ignored?
Question Author
Monday morning Lady !
Question Author
did not see England rugby yesterday, but see they trounced the Italians !
We have a row of 5 inset bulbs going across the kitchen ceiling. One of them needed replacing and I must have done something wrong because they have started flashing as soon as they are turned on. Will have to explore at some point today. They are all led bulbs.
Morning Minty.
Question Author
one must not be in quite properly ! be careful up the ladder !
