Am I the only person who thinks that the two younger children in it -Benji and Molly - are absolutely dreadful actors? Especially Molly. The way she exaggerates every single word that she says is so annoying!! Drives me nuts lol.

The series lost its appeal for me when they format changed from flat-sharing to married with children.

The dynamic is wrong, the kids are, as you say lousy actors, and they've stopped letting Sally Bretton be discreetly sexy.

Stopped watching it now, shame, I did enjoy it.
I tried watching the first series but gave up on it because, in my opinion, Lee Mack is a dreadful actor. (It wasn't helped by, at that time, having Tim Vine in it, who also can't act).

So, if there are now even more terrible actors in it, I'm certainly not yet tempted to give it another try!
I just used to gaze at Sally Bretton until I got a loud rushing noise in my ears, and everything went black and I woke up on the floor ...
It's just a vehicle for stand-up jokes, which doesn't work very well IMHO.
The funniest character in it was always the SIL.

Yes, as soon as they introduced kids it totally lost the plot.
And agree Ken , the SIL is probably the funniest character.

haven't watched it in years, last time i did i thought it was dire.
Not like the children in Outnumbered or Better Things, are they?
I tried watching it, some time ago, but I have a dislike of Lee Mack so didn't really get into it.
Not really noticed the acting ability of the children, but I don't often watch it these days anyway. Early series were good as there were plenty of foils to crack wise with each other (or crack unwise in one or more cases). Extending a good thing by doing the marriage and then family thing just didn't work as well. It seems as if it's in a straitjacket these days. It's ok but clearly not the same. The "will they, won't they" dynamic had gone, as did many supporting characters who presumably had more attractive options available to advance their career.
