Was my on my local news ( which was kinda unusual Clover) but the piece was on This years Must Have Toy
I loved sticklebricks.
Sticklebricks didn't have the same pain level as lego did. (well, from memory anyway)
I was a lego girl meself :-)
True that.
The best way to prepare for a new baby, is to stay awake for 48 hours, then try to get weetabix off a carpet, while kneeling on Lego:-). In my experience...
must admit, sticklebricks did fascinate me.

Pix, almost. the smell of dried in milk is a challenge. You know, the drop which escaped whilst the rest was being mopped up. :-) x
Ah... good point... :-) xx

^^^^ love the above posts, haha
I’ve just googled Must Have Toys 2019 and can’t find anything labelled Gender Neutral. They’re all just things that any child might like.

Incidentally, did any of you ever receive a Must Have Toy? I never did, and I would never queue outside a shop at midnight to get my son a Must Have Toy. They’re forgotten about within days anyway, unless it was something you really wanted and not because it was a MHT.
We were lucky to have somebody on the inside lol, when the tellytubby toys came out one Christmas....

Tyne Tees must feed us anything then :0) clover

No I didn’t , we got one large toy like a pram and doll, roller skates etc, and a stocking with fruit and money and nuts it it
Never received a must have toy but do know I spent hours and days traipsing about without success trying to get someone a cabbage patch doll (those were pre-internet days).

Prudie, how ugly were they? Haha
I am very much in favour of gender neutral toys. I've read a few research papers into how different toys can impact on children psychologically. Toys that are very female tend to focus heavily on physical appearance that perpetuate negative stereotypes about women's role in society. Very male toys tend to focus on fighting, aggression, noise etc.

I will never forget myself and my female cousin have the same birthday and her mum threw us a joint age 10 birthday party. There were two presents a gun and a doll. I grabbed the doll and she grabbed the gun LOLZ. Then my aunt made us swap them back - what do I want with a gun I want to comb my dolls hair LOL.
