Am I the only one that cant stop looking at Gloria Hunifords hair every time she is on television? It always looks so puffed up and unnatural looking and she always has a very long fringe. Do you think it could be a wig?

I dont think she always dresses elegantly either. She always has over sized necklaces too, huge ones.
Her hair was the same in the 1960's when she was a reporter on Ulster radio, She came on a LandRover patrol with us when the troubles were at their height. She's delightful.
I lost all respect for Gloria Huniford after watching the interview with Sara Payne. She spent most of the interview talking about her own daughter instead of the 8 year child who was abducted and murdered by a paedophile.
I didn't see that.
The oversized necklaces are quite usual among women of a certain age. I think it's meant to stop you noticing the wrinkly neck that we all get sometime. I'm not going to wear the huge necklaces myself though.

I'm sure her hair is not a wig. As mamya says, she has very thin hair and it's all poofed up to make it look thicker.
She certainly wasn't wearing a wig when she was with us!
Boaty...the interview was cringing. It's sad her daughter died so young but Sara Payne wasn't asked on the show to talk about Gloria's daughter.
I agree. But as I said I didn't see it. If that is the case then the programme should have been about Sarah.
For a change, it is not me leaping in first about GH's endless ability to shoehorn her lost daughter into any conversation she has on any topic.

I completely sympathise with her loss - we are not supposed to outlive our children - but her constant references in public are undignified, and, as advised, often take away the attention from the topic being discussed, which is not her and her bereavement.
And would go so far as to say she is also unprofessional I think Andy.
ladybirder - I would agree. Professional media people know that sometimes they are the 'talker' and other times they are the 'listener' and they appreciate the difference.

Ms. Huniford seems to lack that professional filter, and remains unable to come within a country mile of a bereavement without steering things round to her and her late daughter.
lawdy, I loathe and detest the title Ms
(not getting at you Andy, just mentioning in passing)
Blooming constipated bees imo.

She does seem to like the sound of her own voice.

The show she co-presents with Angela Ripon and Julia Somerville, neither seem to get a word in edgeways !
I think it is meant to be one of those "timeless" hairstyles.

Personally, I can take her or leave her - but I dont watch much TV anyway.

I am, however, always going to read a thread about her because AH never fails to make me laugh.
I didn't really pay that much attention to her until reading Andy's posts on here. I was shocked that I never noticed how often she turned any convo to herself.

You know what, my dad is dead, I love talking about him, but to people who know him!
Agree with clover about the oversized necklaces, I wouldn't wear them either.
She needs de-cluttering;-)

She's done it for years Ummmm. To me it is as if she thinks her loss is greater than anyone else's. I'm surprised the producers of the programmes in which she appears haven't stopped her from doing it. Perhaps people like it!!

She seems to be their 'go to' person when someone famous dies.

I remember when Lynda Bellingham died, and her husband appeared on Loose Women shortly after, doubtless numb with loss and grief, and hey presto - Gloria was there talking about her daughter - for a change.

Last year, they discussed female hair loss, and hey presto, Gloria is blubbing about Caron and her hair loss.

She was given a lesson in dignity, which I doubt she will learn, from Colleen Nolan, who has lost two sisters to cancer, but manages not to bring it up with tedious and inappropriate regularity.
Easy to criticise, but she's lost a child, she's human, and that's hard. Unless you've walked in her shoes how do you know?
I think she is an ever ready guest, available at short notice, how old is she ?
