This is not a moan, just your opinions, but you can if you want.

I have the Amazon Echo Alexa, and had an e-mail today, that I can order a Dominoes pizza to my my liking, by just asking Alexa.

I can then ask Alexa to track the order, telling me when its on its way, and how long for delivery!

Amazing IMO, even though I dont eat Pizzas!

It won't stop, thankfully. I'd love to peek in 2117 to see the gadgets and gizmos
It'll stop when people realise that 'clever' folk are only inventing new ways to do old things.

Your pizza example is a case in point. I can walk in and order, use the phone, go online, send a small urchin with a note etc etc.

None of those things will make headlines though, unlike corduroy pillow slips.
Last week my new Smart TV asked if I would like to watch a certain programme, I nearly *** myself. Couldn't work out who was speaking to me, I was the only one in the room. That function has now been disabled.
It used to be a favourite topic of undergraduate conversation as to precisely what advancements we would see in our own lifetime. One member of the usual group even correctly predicted the eradication of smallpox.
Lol@ Douglas....... Headlines. :))
I have long thought that progress is only exchanging one nuisance for another.
I've only just got the corduroy pillows and headlines joke. Lol :)
Everything you say to Alexa is stored in writing! Bet GCHQ loves it!

How long before Alexa says "You should have a pizza, so I've ordered one and paid with your PayPal account?"

Will probably stop at my front door
I actually like talking to people and sendig cards and letters
Latest moan about technology is that my gas meter has been moved without my prior knowledge from my hallway (1st floor flat) to the garden of the downstairs flat
Electric meter still in my hallway (both gas and electric from same supplier)
I have read both meters myself for years and dutifully phoned in the readings
No more
Going down the stairs and then into a neighbour's garden with paper and pencil in the wind and rain is not an advance in technology
I welcome the thought of a meter reader
Wonder how he/she will read the electric meter if I am out
^ Smart meters are on the way Daisy , we will all have to have them soon! They phone the electric company and send in their own readings, all without you needing to do anything!
Why will we have to have them?
From what I have read about them they are more trouble than they are worth
The intention is that all meters will be Smart Meters by 2020 less than
2 & 1/2 years from now!
Star Trek used to look so advanced, with those little hand held communicators.
Is the main idea to kill off the human race by Isolationism?
No the idea of smart meters is to save money by eliminating meter readers and to be able to disconnect you in the event of a power emergency so that the power available can be used for essential services rather than ordinary homes.
At this rate there will barely be any menial tasks that shouldn't take up much of our time in the first place left.
Smart meters are not compulsory.
The last thing to go will be people posting scare stories on the internet about smart meters.
