... what goes around comes around ...

Just wandered out the front to bring in my bins and was accosted by huge scary bloke in hi-viz jacket - "Is it OK if we park here?" - points at transit and trailer with mowers & stuff on road outside my front garden.

"Of course - no problem - any time" (frankly I'd have let him park on my lawn - he was quite big ...)

"Only the old bloke who used to live here could be a bit funny about it"
"Well I'm not - it's a public road & you are welcome to use it"
"Cheers Boss - do you want your lawn done?"
"It's not part of your contract - my private bit"
"That's OK - no charge - it will give the apprentice a bit of work to do"
"Cheers - do you want a cuppa?"
"Ta - two with sugar, one without"

So I get my lawn mowed, they get a tea break & we're all happy that the world is a nice place

Good for you.
Excellent. But, "(frankly I'd have let him park on my lawn - he was quite big ...)" , bigger than you??
i hope they did the edges ...
Can you send him to Southend. Mr C pays our gardener £15 to mow the lawn and do the edges...

He made me look like a jockey, rocky :)

Yes, ael, - just noticed "the apprentice" had been made to pull up a few weeds in the shrubbery too :)
So you got a nice trim - well done you - you have to be careful at your age doing manual work!
Is he fit, Dave....if so send him down the hill and I'll do the afternoon tea break...... ;-)
Gness -tiffin time?
Depends what he looks like when he gets here, Islay...... ;-)
dave gives directions to the team for gness's pad and the boss says 'not the lady who imprisons tradesmen in her shed?'

Well he can come and do mine. My blasted gardener didnt turn up this week.

But I was so nice to the builder and the roofer this morning that they are going to fix my roof and build me a porch when I am on holiday so I dont have to deal with the mess.
Is Asbo going to be nice to the builders?
Dave, are you sure the 'big scary bloke' won't soon be knocking on your door asking for something for the work they've done?
He's going to the Kitty Hotel, Islay. I dont trust him here on his own - even with a very good cat sitter. He'll get into too much trouble.
ooooo you are going to be soooo punished when he gets out of gulag!!!
they have apprenticeships in lawnmowing these days?

Do they have a Guild Hall?
It's nice to be nice :-)
That's the way life should work, all the time
Good for you Dave. I've found in life, the iffy, big scary people are the kindest people our there!
