Can I ask you what you thought was the worst programme on over Christmas? I think definitely Blankety Blank!! It was TRULY AWFUL. I lost the will to live in it. Him indoors disagrees. He says Birds of a Feather was worse.

In answer to NoMercy - you are probably right. I've never attempted a single episode of Towie, Gogglebox or I'm a Celebrity - or Celebrity Big Brother, the list is endless. Reality programmes all seem awful to me. One episode of the Apprentice was enough to drive me mental!!!!
Sorry Jackdaw but I have to admit to never having seen Sound of Music or Titanic as well if I can add to the list.
Mikey, totally agree about the latest alumni Uni Challenge - worst I've ever seen, especially last night's when the teams didn't seem to even know the rules, and the final score was 75 - 70! Too much time spent on the long introductions (we don't want to hear their life story, thanks) and waaaaay too long given for them to confer: I was shouting at the TV, and at one point changed channels - something I've never done in decades of watching. I wonder if they get a fee for appearing, or just expenses and a hotel for 1/2 nights?
I have seen The Dallas Buyer's Club before and while it was probably worth an Oscar nomination for its stars I do not think a film about Aids was suitable for Christmas Day. Really bad programming by Channel 5 I thought.
I enjoyed Grantchester and Maigret, thought Birds of a Feather was okay and have still to watch Lady in the Van and Call the Midwives.
Oh yes, I saw Witness for the Prosecution last night and I'm looking forward to the conclusion tonight.
'still open all hours' with david jason, tim healy and johnny vegas, what could go wrong? everything
I'm staying at my daughter's, so to viewing is a bit hit and miss. I thought last night's u/c was awful, but some of them have been excellent. Agree about Pointless - it's dire. Saw part of Call the Midwife. What was that all about? I missed the beginning but didn't bother with the whole programme. Strange. Glad it's not just me, though.
Hellywelly...us Archers fans have higher standards !
I have posted a couple of threads about the crap Xmas TV programmes.

Didn't watch B/Blank Kustard, because of Walliams, but had that pillock on in the background, with Through the Keyhole.

What a crude unfunny ******* he is, and that scruffy fat bloke on the panel was just as bad.

I wouldn't have thought the Advertisers were happy either.
What fat bloke in the panel?
Managed to find re runs of The Chase and there is always Big Bang on somewhere. Every time I ran through the channels that god awful Love Actually seemed to be on somewhere.
Brainiac.....glad it wasn't just me that found the UC programs a bit faff.
Agree TV programmes over Christmas were awful even afternoons were filled with kids films and the kids have seen them all before and don't even watch agree about Love Actually one of the worst films ever can't wait for normality again The Chase!,
Sorry, I can't bear The Chase. I like straightforward quiz programmes with no flashing lights or repetition. U/c and Only Connect, plus Brain of Britain on the radio.
We do, Mikey!!
Agree about Blankety Blank - absolutely dire, gave up watching it. I loved it with Paul O'Grady though but then I am a fan of his. I've recorded Through the Christmas Keyhole and not seen it yet. I like it, but not a huge fan of Lemon. Corrie and For the Love of Dogs was the best for me this year.
hc - do you think it's Johnny Vegas ?
Could be, he's not known for refinement. :D
I watched the Walliams thing when Sheridan Smith was on because I like her, and I used to like Walliams in Little Britain. I couldn't face the remaining episodes.

I like the Christmas UC. I'm surprised I got quite a few questions that those high-fliers didn't, so that makes it more fun.

I saw about a minute of the Brian Cox and Noel Fielding thing, but had to take the dog out for a wee. When I got back the channel had been changed by family who said it was "literally unwatchable".
