...dog lover by any means....I would never want to own one....look after one or be tied by the responsibility.....

But a friend is visiting and I am dog sitting this evening while she gallivants ...I have lit the fire and the doggie is lying close by fast asleep.....I presume they don't burst into flames do they?...

And it has made the sitting room feel really homely and cosy...the fire and the snoring dog....

So what makes your home homely?....xx

Fairy lights and a ticking clock.
My cats....they pretend to be dead. Such naughty creatures!
Wait until it starts farting.

What breed of dog?
Without a doubt it's our cats. They are definitely the finishing touch.
If they are too close to the fire there is a danger that they might turn into hot dogs.
Good for you, a ticking clock: not too many people have those anymore.
Hahahaha Blackadder. Very good
The dog (who I'm not talking to as he bit me last Wednesday), various table lamps (never have the ceiling lights on) and the many framed prints which cover the walls (my cleaner hates them)...........I too have a ticking mantel clock.

Farting!!! Lord save us....do dogs fart...she didn't tell me that...and I was so relaxed....
Breed....god knows...four legs and a tail.....

I do have a liking for a ticking clock...MrG inherited an old ticking, chiming clock but left it to his clock collecting doctor when he died....

I think this dog is hot...but she seems happy enough....

Cats I have had..but this seems somehow more relaxed...cats are always aware I find...x
"Do dogs fart?" Is the Pope a catholic?
Pee pees time quick, Gness

My only experience of dogs was the one my son found, many years ago, tied to the central reservation of a motorway....he rescued it...paid the vets bills and arrived for Christmas with the dog.

It was standing behind the Christmas tree looking out of the window when something startled it.....it dived through the tree....got caught in the lights... stripped the tree and hared off into the garden trailing the lights....

This doggie is more relaxed...so far...x

The pope is a numpty, in my opinion....

Does she tell me when she needs to pee?

Doris is a saint!

Crafty....I have a sound activated table lamp....I love it....it does as it's told as soon as I speak.....☺
Cat (he just happens to have come down from his room this very moment...he's facing Dads seat for a treat before the up/down in/out antics).

Candles, I love being cosied up with the blinds down

My husband, me and Buddy make our house a home :)

I'm very blessed that I dont ask nor want for much although I could easily have what others may covet. It's a strange ole world :) Content x
Same here, gness. We know when it gets to warm for her, the smell of singeing dog hair is horrible ;-)

Well...I no longer have the husband...and the cats have gone too, Kylesmum.. but I know from friends visiting that my house is welcoming....it's just that having the dog snoozing...well burning now I think...in front of the fire seems to have made a difference....

And yes....candles are cosy....x
7 dogs sat in front of our fire at the moment gness :)
Question Author
Oh jeez, Tony....I'm not going to singe it am I? Not good at this dog sitting lark...will it smell before disaster strikes!... :-(
Question Author
