When I was a lad in Geordie-land you could get 'dab & chips' from the local chippie. The dab was like a fishcake but it had a layer of potato in the middle - it tasted delicious! Down south in East Anglia you just get met with a blank stare when you ask for such. Do any of you wonderful folk have a local chippy that offers such delights?
(We used to call them (potato) scallops)
