I said, Oh your hair looks lovely. It really suits you.'

Actulally, she now looks like Wendolene from 'A Close Shave' Wallace and Gromit. It's hideous!

I feel a bit guilty.

I always thing - if I tell the person that their hair/clothing is awful then they will spend the rest of the day feeling awful and be totally unable to do anything about it.

Her hair will look much better once she has washed it herself.

I am having a 'good hair day' - it is shiny and sitting perfectly. Alas I have been in the house all day and nobody has seen it.

Personally tilly if someone asks me whether something looks good and i respect them enough not to want to hurt their feelings then i'd tell them exactly what i thought so that they would know the truth and could make an informed judgement based on what i told them but that's just me.

The once or twice i've been asked that question i've answered honestly yes it looks fantastic as the derrieres in question were. Had that same question been from a woman with a bony flat excuse for a behind or jelly of a mess i would've told her. Honesty is the best policy and i see no reason why i need to lie.
