Is That Slanderous?

A comment was made in tonight's Emmerdale after Cheryl Cole (Tweedy) was referenced in a magazine to which a girl retorted "Why would I want to look like a cheap tart?"
Like Cheryl Tweedy or not -that was not only out of order, but totally uncalled for! I hope Cheryl sues.....

Defamatory rather than libellous I would think. I expect she`s got better things to do that watch Emmerdale though.

Slander`s verbal. Libel`s written or broadcast to a wider audience. Opining that someone looks like a cheap tart isn`t really either though. There`s no false accusation there.

I quite like Cheryl Cole, if I were her, I would be pretty p****d off if I heard that, I wouldn't sue though but make it known to the "powers that be" that I wasn't happy about being branded a cheap tart.

Hopefully Cheryl has more sense than to watch Emmerdale the everyday story of Non - Yorkshire folks. There was absolutely no need to be bitchy about Cheryl especially on a second rate soap with third rate actors.
